With the holiday season upon us, it’s time to have a quick self-esteem check.

While you are writing out your goals and making plans for the year, there’s a very important message you need to remember.
YOU ARE ENOUGH
Every now and then you need to remind yourself of this simple fact.
YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH
As I mentioned in an earlier post, How to Survive being the Black Sheep of the Family criticism from family members and loved ones can sometimes wear us down.
When this happens we need to flex our self-esteem muscles and remember we have the right to make our own lifestyle choices. You have the right to follow your goals and dreams (even when your loved ones don’t agree with them).
When we are faced with criticism it’s can be easy to question ourselves.
We start thinking we aren’t good enough. Our choices aren’t good enough, we aren’t smart enough, pretty enough, popular enough…the list goes on.
Just because we choose a different path from our family members or loved ones, does not mean their path is right and ours is wrong!
Don’t let people’s criticism make you doubt yourself or your choices. Hold strong to what you believe in and what will make YOU happy.
I love this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
(If you are struggling with feeling inferior, make sure you read the post – 12 Techniques to Stop Feeling Inferior.)
You are enough.
You always have been and you always will be enough, you just have to believe in yourself. It’s important to believe in yourself even when the people in your life don’t support you.
A wonderful book that can help is You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero. I’ve read this book several times and it’s great for inspiration. It’s fantastic for those times when you are feeling a bit down and need a pick-me-up. 🙂
You are enough. Know it. Believe it and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!

Yes I had family problems, i in the end gave them problems to God, several years after they initially began and it was taken care off. My sister who took me to court for calling her a fucking bitch in her workplace, that relationship is over. I gave it to God & now 3 years on I’m living in a new town, working away & mostly not surrounded by negativity & I feel good. I chase my goals every day, have a real hunger for life & I continue to survive. Maybe one day reproduce, but when I put my head to the pillow, I know I’ve lived. Thanks to life, from being homeless 4 years a go with no emotional feeling, living with fibromyalgia which was chronic, spending a couple of months on a psychiatric ward due to gaining feeling in my brain through sound frequency therapy to having a roof over my head & a savings account. I’ve come a long way. Never give up. I count myself one of the lucky ones. Today I can say, I know who I am. 😀
