What songs get you motivated? Here are my favourite motivational songs. Enjoy!

I heard a song the other day that gave me goosebumps and I was instantly reminded of the power of music.

I have always been the sort of person that listens to the lyrics in songs. I picked these 7 songs because I find them motivating and inspiring.

Enjoy!

I loved this song from the moment I heard it years ago.  It’s uplifting, fun, inspiring and for a writer – well life is still unwritten.

Other than the fact that this video is visually impressive – the words are the amazing part. It gives me the inspiration to keep going, despite my setbacks.

I love Josh Groban. He is my all time favourite singer (you can read a seperate post I wrote about him here). Though this song has been recorded by a range of other artists, Josh is of course my favourite. The fact that he is backed up by a great choir, only makes this song more beautiful.

I used to be a huge Glee fan. When I was still at the office and planning my exit strategy, I would play this song over and over. It was a source of inspiration. It reminded me I was ready for a new chapter in my life and I just had to be brave enough to take the next step (and the many after that!).

I remember seeing The Lion King on stage in London. By the end of this opening song, I had tears in my eyes. This music is so powerful!

I don’t think I heard this song when it first came out, it wasn’t till later when I bought a Baz Luhmann CD that I was hooked. There is a lot of wisdom in this song.

Be warned, I’m about to show my nerdy 80’s side! This song was out of the 1985 movie “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”. Look at how young Sarah Jessica Parker is – well before SATC fame. I’v always loved this song. It makes me want to get up and dance. Mostly, it just made me feel happy.
