It’s that time again to look at what I considered some of the top posts for December 2011.
December is the time of year when people are blogging about Christmas, reflecting on their achievements and failures during the year and doing best of 2011 lists. Overall I think it’s safe to safe you can expect a few link posts amongst my choices.
As usual posts are broken down into my three core themes.

I couldn’t resist this one. As a regular reader of Copyblogger, I know they have top quality posts. It goes without saying the best of Copyblogger 2011 is a treat for writers and bloggers alike.
Smart Passive Income – Atypical tips for Writing Awesome Blog Posts
I have written about Pat Flynn at Smart Passive Income on this blog a couple of times. I mention him regularly because he is an inspiration, a fantastic blogger and though I haven’t met him myself he seems like a lovely, genuine person.
In this post Pat shares some great blog post writing tips.
Kikolani – 560 Resources for Blogging, Online Marketing and Starting a Business
Kikolani written by Kristi Hines is a blog I have been reading for a while now. This link post is massive and full of great resources.
Kristi puts together a Fetching Friday post every week which is always chock full of great links and information. Be sure to check out these posts for yourself.
Writing Happiness – Why these 34 Bloggers Inspired Me in 2011
I have to admit I love lists like this one. It gives me the opportunity to uncover exciting new blogs (and to share them with you naturally!)

The Change Blog by Peter Clemens is full of inspiring, useful and sometimes challenging information on changing your life for the better. In December, I particularly liked this guest post by Ryan Rivera.
Dumb Little Man – Trying to Improve Your Willpower is a HUGE Mistake – Here’s what to do instead
This post written by Ali Luke on Dumb Little Man makes a lot of sense to me. While I enjoyed this post, I also enjoyed the interesting range of comments it inspired on the concept of willpower.
This post has me questioning some of my own techniques, some which have worked and some which haven’t.
Upgrade Reality – 7 Success Secrets that 99% of people don’t know or use
Dirk (also known as Diggy) is the writer of Upgrade Reality. I think I first noticed Diggy in the comments section of other blogs (proving the process of leaving good quality comments will get you noticed).

Britt and her family have been on an incredible journey travelling around the US in 2011. Have a look at Britt’s great highlights post.
Tiny Buddha – Learning from the Relationships that Didn’t Work Out
I just love Tiny Buddha by Lori Deschene. The blog is filled with so many wonderful posts.
I particularly enjoyed (and can highly relate to) this guest post by Laurenne Sala.
Firepole Marketing – Harnessing You Tube: Secrets of Engagement with Video
I have been reading about Danny Iny from Firepole Marketing a lot lately. He seems to be everywhere, which is exactly what a blogger needs to do to grow their audience and business. I personally like this post because it talks about how to engage with people using video.
Since I have only just started using video, I have a lot to learn. This guest post by Paul Wolfe from One Spoon at a Time will definitely help me and anyone else using video on their blog.
Danny recently released an excellent book Engagement from Scratch. You can download the book for free or buy it if you choose. If you are a blogger, I highly recommend you check out this book.
Adrienne Smith – My Secret to Blogging Success
Adrienne Smith’s blog is a fairly recent find for me though I have to say I am already hooked. Adrienne is so helpful, lovely and her blog is a powerhouse of great content. She is also an ex-personal assistant who embarked into the online world, which I can definitely relate to.
