As a freelancer, I read several websites and blogs on freelancing.
Here are some of the best websites and blogs I have found for freelancers.
These websites cover getting started as a freelancer, general information that can help all freelancers (no matter what sort you are) and advice from individual freelance writers.
Freelance Switch is a great site relevant to all freelancers. They have a particularly good section on getting started as a freelancer.
Getting started as a freelancer – Freelance Switch
Freelance folder is another site relevant to all areas of freelancing.
I spotted a great list of 20 must read blogs for freelance writers. Some appear on this list plus there are a few new discoveries.

The Savvy Freelancer has a great series on 31 Days to Start Freelancing
Skelliwag has a great set of posts on 30 Days to Become a Freelancer.
I discovered this site after reading Freelancing for Australians – For Dummies written by Susan M. Drake and Monica Davidson. This site is founded by freelance filmmaker and writer Monica Davidson. I like the book and website as they are specifically written for Australian Freelancers.
Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen runs a series of six Quips and Tips blogs. One of them is based on being a freelance writer.
This one is a totally new find. I look forward to exploring this blog further.
I know I mentioned both Urban Muse and Make a Living Writing in a recent post on my favourite blogs, but they are so relevant to freelancers, I just had to mention them both again.
I am sure I have missed some great sites. Feel free to share your favourite sites for freelancers in comments.

This is a very useful list. It’s always great to find new freelancer resource sites. Among the new ones I found here is Diary of a Mad Freelancer, and I’ve enjoyed exploring it. Thanks for the compilation.

Hi Shari
Thanks for the comment, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am so glad you enjoyed the list. I always love finding new gems around the Internet and sharing them on this site.
Great to see you here.

Hi Thea, thanks for sharing these unique links, although I would appreciate more if you have short descriptions for some of them. Some of which I have known just now. As a freelancer, its always best that we know lots of resources. Also, have you checked on staff.com? I saw them on one of the blog posts in odesk, checked on them and found them interesting. Maybe you’d like to add it up on your list.
Hi Shara
Thanks for your comment, lovely to see you here.
I will have to check out the link you suggested, I haven’t heard of that one. I look forward to seeing you here again soon.
Cheers
Thea
